Motivation
In 2019, a close family member of mine experienced a major health scare. As a result of the outcome, I became a temporary caregiver. I was in charge of many different things, including ensuring that all doctors and specialists had current and up-to-date medical records. Juggling paper, CDs, and flash drives were becoming a nightmare.
Brief
LIFE is a fun personal health record application for anyone who can use a smart device. An easily accessible platform enables you to recall information, stay organized, and stay informed about your health. Accountability is important in health, and LIFE strongly encourages users to be more active and aware of their health.
Problem
Targeted Users
As a result of Covid 19, the whole healthcare community is chronically overwhelmed. Because of the mounting mortality toll, everyone must be health-conscious and proactive. Data acquired during clinic and hospital visits is presently only saved in current Electronic health record (EHR )systems.

Anything that occurs between such appointments is not recorded by EHR systems. This type of data may be extremely beneficial to health care practitioners in analyzing the efficacy of their treatment plan and determining the causes of poor treatment results.
Although we encourage everyone to take their health seriously, our platform is largely geared toward the African American community. Minorities receive lower-quality health care than any other race, even when insurance status, income, age, and severity of problems are comparable.
According to studies, most patients do not remember less than half of what was mentioned during a session. The notes from the provider are about you. You should be able to get to them. Our purpose is to assist you in increasing your health awareness.

Research
Before delving deeper into the ideation process, I wanted to understand more about the target audience through user interviews. Out of the 14 participants recruited through the Social Media platform, five were interviewed through Facetime or Skype from the online survey.
When I started doing interviews, I was shocked to discover that three out of five participants were already utilizing a form of the personal health record. Most providers already have a portal where users may access information such as lab results and prescription refill requests. When consumers switch providers, their information is no longer available unless specifically requested.

The affinity maps shown were created to determine the most important variables shared by all interview participants. Then, in order to separate the notes into smaller bits, I collected the notes that were comparable among all of my interviews.
Affinity Maps
Key Finding : from Affinity Mapping revealed that staying healthy is their top priority, with protection and security being the most requested when determining whether or not to use the application.
After reviewing my information, I came to the following conclusion: To guarantee that LIFE produces excellent outcomes, I must ensure that user information is safeguarded. Accessible and convenient to assist foster consistent involvement while also encouraging users to be more accountable when it comes to their health.
Design
User Flow
I selected the features with the user's desires and the company's goals in mind. These aspects have an impact on my user flow. Maintain as much simplicity as feasible in the onboarding process while simultaneously maintaining its security.

Main Features
Security
The top worry for interviewed users was ensuring that their information was safe and secure. We resolved this issue by sending a code to the user's email as an added layer of protection before granting access.
The top navigation bar allows users to navigate across the application.
The dashboard display may be tailored to the needs of the user.
All user-imported health record information is kept alphabetically under chart note
User-current Healthcare team information is shown under providers for quicker access all in one spot.
Whats Next..
This was my first UX case study that I oversaw from start to end. This case study was more than just a bootcamp assignment; it motivated me and demonstrated how I can apply my prior knowledge and skills to my new career.
A much deeper dive into user pain points is required to gain a better idea of what further specifications might be useful while utilizing a Personal Health Record.
After my study is completed, I intend to start developing LIFE (temporary name) into a mobile and online application by the end of 2022.
